Eric Botteghin heeft na zijn vertrek bij Feyenoord een nieuwe club gevonden. De verdediger gaat volgens journalist Gianluca di Marzio aan de slag bij de Italiaanse club Ascoli, dat aankomend seizoen uitkomt in de Serie B.
Botteghin speelde 172 officiële wedstrijden in het Feyenoord-shirt en was in totaal zes seizoenen actief in De Kuip, nadat hij in 2015 overkwam van FC Groningen. De 33-jarige Braziliaan gaat nu een nieuw avontuur aan Italië.
