PSV is voor de voorhoede en het middenveld op zoek naar nieuwe spelers. Opvallend is dat de club óók naar een nieuwe verdediger heeft geïnformeerd: Niels Nkounkou (24) van Eintracht Frankfurt. De Eindhovense club wil deze Franse linksback, die nog tot medio 2028 bij de Bundesliga-club onder contract staat, graag huren met een optie tot koop. Of dat lukt is nog niet duidelijk, maar het duidt erop dat PSV tóch nog wat wil doen aan de defensieve bezetting.
