Farid Zare heeft al maanden geen contact met zijn zoontje in Tilburg, omdat hij vastzit in Iran. Hij dacht in dat land een handtekening op een scheidingsformulier te zetten, maar eenmaal daar stelde zijn ex-vrouw een uitreisverbod tegen hem in. Ze wil dat hij eerst 2500 gouden Iraanse munten (omgerekend 1,2 miljoen euro) betaalt.
